Red dot design award winner
Michael Olsson and Rickard Grönstedt, OG Invent where awarded with the international product design award red dot design award for their smoke detector Snapalarm.
The motivation read: ”The Snapalarm is an innovative and appealingly designed smoke detector. It works with optical technology and has been given an original shape. The Snapalarm is easy to install and easy to put in the right place. A unique feature of the Snapalarm is a patented installation technique. Simply place the alarm on the cord of a pending lamp with a click, no tools are needed. The Snapalarm is suitable for all cords and chains up to 2cm in thickness. ”

Red dot design award was founded in Germany 50 years ago with the purpose to promote and spread meaningful design. Back then it was the first of its kind. Today Red dot design award is one of the greatest and most established design competitions in the world. Red dot design award will give the consumer an indication of high quality and inventive design. At the evaluation the jury has focused on factors such as innovation, functionality, quality, ergonomics and life span.
